Sometimes when you least expect it very special case comes along. Chance a small foal , 6 months old, had suffered a terrible lip injury and needed help. Good Samaritans in Kansas receive a call, asking them if they wanted the colt, if not he would be disposed of. When they picked him up they discovered the wound had been left untreated and there was a severe infection. The lower lip was torn almost half way off 2 inches behind the jaw. He received immediate vet care and was put on antibiotics. The Good Samaritans called Epona Horse Rescue when they realized the cost of the rehabilitation and the work of it would be better placed upon the shoulders of a horse rescue.
Chance was sweet loving and very smart. He showed much potential and was going to turn into an amazing horse. He was patient, well behaved and trusting. He had 2 surgeries to repair the lip and is now in a loving forever home.
